Church Family Programs Director

$125 per 5-hour week.

Are you a creative educator?

Help us build up the children's ministry at St. John's Episcopal Church in Arlington. We want children to be a vital part of our congregation and need an energetic person to work with us in creating a vision. The position is five hours per week, to include teaching a Sunday school class, creating 3-4 programs a year for the children to present in church, church attendance, getting to know the families and other parishioners during hospitality time, planning time, and creating, publicizing and coordinating monthly events that are offered to the community.

The Family Programs Director will work with the rector to plan and teach Sunday school curriculum to 4-8 children in elementary and middle school during the school year. Sunday school classes run from 10 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m. The Family Programs Director will also work with church leaders to market the program to the neighborhood and surrounding communities and plan, publicize and execute events that invite community participation and hopefully a commitment to the church.

Requirements:
Christian background; teaching experience with active children; ability to think creatively to plan curriculum and programs that the children can present in church 3-4 times per year; ability to work independently to research material for chosen Sunday School lesson plans or to work with a chosen curriculum.

Salary is $125 per week for 5 hours. Contract runs until June 2019 with the possibility of extensions.
