Community Meeting  May 9th 7 pm

On March 12, St. John’s had a meeting of the Glencarlyn community and members of the church to hear about the proposal to place a Little Free Food Pantry (LFFP) on the church grounds. There are a number of individuals in our community, who at least occasionally, facing food insecurity. LFFPs are intended to supplement other food large distribution programs such as the Arlington Food Assistance Center and the St. Anthony’s Food Pantry.

On May 9th at 7 pm we will have a next steps meeting at St. John’s to offer the whole community the chance to ask general questions and raise concerns. We expect to have some preliminary plans on management, support, and logistics for the LFFP from some planning sessions, if we decide to proceed with this program. Please join us!

Brainstorming Prior to the Meeting - We encourage anyone from the community, who is interested in seeing a LFFP at St.John’s, to participate in one or more of the brain-storming / planning sessions. These sessions are scheduled for 7 pm on April 24th and May 1st at St. John’s. There is more information about the proposal on our LFFP Page.

If you are unable to attend either brainstorming/planning or the community meeting, and have some thoughts to share or interest in helping in its operation, please contact Rev. Julie Bryant at 703 336-2255 or juliedianebryant@gmail.com.
