St. John's Position on Racism

6/19/2020

St. John’s opposes racism in all its many forms. We stand with people of color everywhere who are suffering from prejudice day in and day out, and we mourn the loss of George Floyd’s life and others who have been killed in police custody. Racism is not a problem that people of color can solve. It is something that white America must solve, by reflecting on our complicity in this sin individually through white privilege and corporately by participating in systems that institutionalize racism.

Jesus proclaimed that every single person was equal, due equal treatment as a beloved child of God. We promise to do everything in our power to make Jesus’ words a reality.
