Mutual Ministry Review

Discussing Mutual Care.

October 28 after the 10 am service.

Letter from the Rector October 15, 2018      (Click here for MMR package in pdf format)

Dear friends in the St. John’s congregation:

It is time again for a Mutual Ministry Review (MMR). In 2016, the rector, vestry and congregation completed a successful MMR on our goal of being welcoming.  Welcome bags and having parishioners sit with newcomers at coffee hour were two outcomes of this effort.

A few words on Mutual Ministry Review. An MMR is not an evaluation of anything or anybody, but rather a careful look at how we actually do ministry together (mutually). The purpose of an MMR is to improve the work (welcoming, spiritual growth, and serving needs in the community are our goals) that parishioners and clergy do together. The outcomes will be our mutual commitments to do agreed things together to make St. John’s better – mutual work toward mutual goals.

This year, the vestry and rector have chosen to focus on one aspect of our outreach to the community goal. We are going to talk about mutual caring – our outreach to one another. Our MMR will be held on Sunday, October 28 at 11:30. We will come together to share ideas, to brainstorm and to come up with some actions we can take to support this ministry. Since we are all a part of all our ministries, we would like as many people to participate as possible. The meeting should last less than one hour. If you need child care, please let us know.
Faithfully,

 Ann+
