Close to 70 attendees from Episcopal churches throughout Arlington attended a Lenten supper and lecture at St. John's March 12 to hear the Rev. Benjamin Campbell speak on Virginia's history of racism and its still-present effects in today's society. |

For those unable to make it to church, Rev. Ann Barker of St. John's was at the Ballston Metro Station on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 7:30 to 8:30 am and from 5:00 to 6:00 pm to impose ashes for those who want them and hand out Lenten devotional books. Other churches in the area provided a similar service at other metro stations. |

Justiniano Garay, St. John's sexton of 25 years entered the Life of the Resurrection on January 16. He had been suffering from a serious illness for some time. He is survived by his wife Guadalupe, several children and step-children. The family of St. John's is remembering him in our prayers. |

St. John's will have a Family Game Night on Saturday, January 19 at 7 pm. Bring your whole family, your favorite games and a can or box of food for AFAC (see list). Everyone is welcome. St John's will provide popcorn and hot chocolate. We will meet in the undercroft (basement) of the church. Use the 5th street entrance.
