Shrine Mont is a place where people are more important than things, where prayer and reflection, rest and recreation are more important than appointments and tasks. It’s a place where people give thanks to God for his creation—from the beauty of the streams, flowers and wildlife which are at home here, to the people who come to this place to celebrate being part of the family of God.
Parishioners and friends from St. John’s visit Shrine Mont for a special gathering that has taken place for many years. The weekend includes opportunities for rest, socializing, and recreation. Buffet-style meals are served in the Virginia House and Tucker Hall. Activities include a hike up the mountain, walking the labyrinth, and relaxing on the porch. A Sunday morning service will be held in the beautiful outdoor cathedral. (See tentative schedule below)
