St. John's Cutting Back Large Oak Tree

On Friday, January 25, work was begun by contractors on a very large two stemmed pin oak tree near the intersection of 4th St. S and Lexington. There were a number of concerns raised by residents of Glencarlyn on the Glencarlyn private facebook page as well as communications to the church and the Glencarlyn Citizens' Association.

The letter below in pdf format to the Glencarlyn Citizens' Association with an attachment of the letter to the county covers the decision making process and actions.

We would like to express our apologies to the community for not informing them of the decision prior to starting work.

After reading that letter, If you still have questions contact us at rector@stjohnsarlingtonva.org.
