Blessing of Animals October 6

St. John’s Episcopal Church held its traditional blessing of the animals service on Sunday, October 6. The blessing is usually held on the Sunday after the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4), who was said to be loved by animals of all kinds. A number of parishioners and neighbors brought their pets (or pictures of them) to the side garden for a short service and the blessing.
