St. John's Celebrates Holy Week
St. John's will hold several services in Holy Week, April 13-20. Everyone is welcome at all services and activiites.
On April 13 we will celebrate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem with Palm Sunday services at 8 and 10. We will bless and distribute palms and read the story of Jesus' arrest and crucifixion.
On Thursday, April 17, we will have a "Loaves and Fishes" supper and Communion service at 6:30 p.m. This service focuses on Jesus' washing his disciples' feet, instituting the Holy Communion and giving the commandment to his disciples to "Love one another as I have loved you". We will have a simple meal of fish, cole slaw and rolls, followed by a Communion service in the undercroft. Then we will go into the church and strip the altar.
On Good Friday, April 18, we will have two services at noon and 7:00 p.m. to commemorate Jesus' crucifixion.
On Sunday April 20, we will celebrate Easter with two services at 8 and 10.
After the 10 am service on Easter there will be an Easter Egg Hunt and reception to which everyone is welcome.
