Deacon Mary Cushing to Conclude Tenure July 5th

Dear St John’s Family,
With gratitude for her ministry in our midst, I write with news that Deacon Mary Cushing will conclude her tenure with us Sunday, July 5.
That day, one of the two Archdeacons of the Diocese will be with us as guest preacher.
I trust that you have found her presence, care, and proclamation of the Gospel in word and action to be a true example of servant leadership. Mary has participated and led liturgy and preaching regularly, she has brought many comfort and guidance through pastoral care, she has organized and facilitated outreach, and has engaged congregational administration by applying skills of her secular vocation and extensive lay leadership before ordination. It has been a joy for me to come to know Mary and I am grateful for the friendship that has formed between us as her Diaconal vocation has been shaped and honed in this, her first parochial assignment following her ordination in the summer of 2024.
Mary will have a season of rest before undertaking her next parochial setting, which will probably begin early this fall.
Let us be sure to thank her, and to thank God for the gift of her faithful service to each of us, and to those in need we seek to serve.
